TONY JUMPs TO OLD MELDRUM RECORDS writes Shane Fenton

In his first competitive jumps outing in almost 9 months Kilbarchan AC's Tony Daffurn smashed two long standing records at the Old Meldrum Highland Games.

First up was the long jump with Tony jumping out to 22' 9'' to smash arecord which had stood for 42 years.

The triple jump saw Tony record one of the longest jumps anywhere in Scotland this year breaking the sand at 49'5.5'', not only did it break the previous record from 26 years ago it was only 4 inches short of the all-time Scottish record. Two great efforts and don't forget it was on grass.
