RIDER CLINCHES WORLD CABER TITLE writes Shane Fenton
Three days after winning the SHGA World Heavy Events title at Loch Lomond Scott Rider from Dartford has now been crowned the World Caber Champion. There were 11 competitors in the competition with Scot's Bruce Robb and Neil Elliot 2nd and 3rd.
Rider, who is a leading GB shot putter has been in tremendous form over the last week competing at Loch Lomond, Rosneath Peninsula, Burntisland and Inveraray on successive days.
Outwith the World Caber title , Rider won five other events at Inveraray, the 16lb and 22lb shot putts, 16lb and 22lb hammer and the 28lb Weight for Distance.
Bruce Robb gained some consolation for Scotland by landing a 56lb Weight for Height and Weight for Distance double.
