MBE's for PETER NICOL & STEVIE RYDER & BME for MARGARET MATHER

Congratulations to Stevie Ryder and Peter Nicol on being awarded MBE's in the recent round of awards, and BME to Margaret Mather.

Stevie Ryder (Crieff) has been involved in Highland Games since he was 15 and been involved and helped many Games the length and breadth of the country. He is past Chairman of Crieff Highland Gathering and past Chairman of the Scottish Highland Games Association and is currently a member of the SHGA General Council.

Peter Nicol (Aboyne) has also been involved in Highland Games from an early age, starting as programme seller at Aboyne when he was 12. In 1966, he was invited to be a member of the Aboyne organising committee and remained there for 50 years, he was also heavily involved with the Grampian Highland Games Association. The Aboyne man, who worked as a magician and entertainer, said he was stunned to find out about the honour.

Margaret Mather (Inveraray) Congratulations, awards just keep coming for people involved in Highland Games, Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) awarded to Margaret, Mrs MATHER Secretary, Inveraray Highland Games, for services to the community in Inveraray.
