LEON ALI - HAWICK

The SHGA is deeply shocked by the tragic news at the weekend and the loss of Leon Ali in a car accident. The 24 year old from Hawick, along with his brother was a regular attender on the Highland Games circuit for a number of years. Leon was a talented sprinter and was popular with his fellow competitors. He will be sadly missed, and condolences go to his family and friends.

There are so many stand out moments with Leon and it's a mark of the man that the fondest memories weren't even related to running. Leon was the very definition of a gentleman. He had the drive at work and play to not just to make himself better, but to help all around him. It was this quality that leaves us so saddened by his tragic loss. We will all miss him so dearly. Such a fun, hard working sensible young man. A man I would have on my side walking into battle, knowing I would be safe with his unmatched loyalty.
