INVERCHARRON THE SETTING FOR LEAGUE DECIDERS

INVERCHARRON THE SETTING FOR LEAGUE DECIDERS

Shane Fenton previews the last games of the season

Invercharron Highland Games which takes place tomorrow [Sat 20th] up at Bonar Bridge in Sutherland may not be the biggest or most famous of games held during the season.

However, invariably, it is the results from these final games which determines the outcome's of the season long SHGA leagues.

Once again that will be the scenario, and it leaves athletes and cyclists in a state of perplexity as to whether they should make the long trek North.

Unbelievably after nearly 60 games and 500 competitions only 11 points seperate Lukasz Wenta and Lorne Colthart in the Heavy events league, i must point out however, apart from the results from Invercharron we still await two other games forwarding their results, they may also have a bearing on the final outcome.

Those results don't affect any of the other leagues, but what happens tomorrow could, in the Open 90m/200m league only 4pts seperate 3rd to 6th while in the 400m - 800m league a single point seperates 2nd & 3rd.

In the Open cycling 20 points are up for grabs with 12pts currently between 2nd to 4th places.

Open events get underway at 1pm Full details at
