Great day at Grantown for 'local hero' Charles.

Cyclist Charles Fletcher thrilled his home crowd by winning all six races on the card at the Grantown on Spey Highland Games. Charles who is becoming a bit of a local celebrity in his home town won the 800m,1600m,3200m,one lap timed and Deil. His brother, Edward, also featured in the prizes, after a 2 ½ year recovery from a bad knee injury. In all, there were 10 Senior Cyclists and 8 Junior Cyclists. For the first time in many years, there were heats in the Open and Junior 800m Cycling races.
The four youth cycle races had four different winners.


In the heavy events Scott Rider was once again the overall winner, Rider who was crowned Scottish champion the previous week at Crieff won the 16lb shot, 16lb and 22lb hammer as well as the 28lb and 56lb WfD and Caber. Lukasz Wenta thwarted the clean sweep by winning the 22lb shot putt.


Ewan Bradley,Inverness has had an exceptional season in the running and jumping events and that continued at Grantown with four wins. On the track he was victorious in the 400 metres and 800 metres and also won the long jump and high jump.
Stewart Clark, Stonehaven did the sprint double with wins in both the 90m and 200m.
