Big incentive for jumpers at Mull writes Shane Fenton

MULL HIGHLAND GAMES -ERRAY PARK -TOBERMORY-THURSDAY 18TH JULY.

Many of Scotland's leading high, long and triple jumpers will be leaping onto the boat and heading to the Isle of Mull next Thursday for the Mull Games at Tobermory.

Up for grabs will be the biggest prize pots ever offered on the Games circuit for jumpers.
The Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump competitions will each have the following prize money £100-£60-£40-£30-£20.

The total open jumps prize money this year is £750.
There is an extra incentive of £100 for the winner of the high jump if they break Jay Scott's record of 6ft 3.5in from 1955.

It is hoped that there will be similar incentives for anyone breaking the Long and Triple Jump records.
The long jump record has stood since 1968 at 22ft 11in by Willie McLellan while David Watson holds the triple jump record at 49' 4''.

Mull has arguably the best surface for jumping on the SHGA circuit.
In 2012 Mull had the top triple jump distance and 2nd best long jump distance.

Entries will be taken on the day.
