Saturday 1st August

The directors and committee of Aboyne Highland Games have taken the tough decision to cancel this year’s event on Saturday, 01 August due to the Coronavirus pandemic and having reviewed the latest Government Guidelines.

It is believed that this is the first time in the 153-year history of the Games that it has been cancelled in peacetime.  The only times it is known that the games were not held was during both world wars.

The health and wellbeing of residents, competitors, visitors, judges and partners is the most important factor.  For everyone to stay at home and stay safe and healthy is what is important right now and in the months ahead.

Wishing you all the very best.

Kind regards

Morag McBeath

Aboyne Highland Games Secretary
