WILLIAM CRAWFORD - OBITUARY

It is with much sadness that the committee of Thornton Highland Gathering remember William (Wull) Crawford who sadly passed away on Wednesday 19th October 2016 aged 84 years.  Wull was involved with the Highland Games since the early 1950's when he competed as a runner at games all over Scotland.  Later on he joined his father and brother on the committee at Thornton where he served as secretary and chairman on several occasions. He was busy throughout the year carrying out the unseen work involved in organising the games and was 'hands on' in Memorial Park all week prior to Games Day setting up, marking out the ring and organising everyone.  Although in recent years Wull had less to do with the physical side of Game Week he was always on hand with his knowledge and experience to give guidance and advice.

In 2014 Wull was given the honour of being elected as Chieftain.

Wull will be sadly missed by all his friends on the committee at Thornton and by all the friends he made over the years during his association with the SGA/SHGA. Funeral service will be held at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on 1st November at 2.15pm.
