Personality missing

Similar to most Highland games enthusiasts JACK DAVIDSON found it appalling that the death of Bill Anderson failed to merit a mention on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year programme.

In response. Jack penned this letter which appeared in The Herald on Tuesday [17th December].

Personality missing

SHAME on the BBC'S Sports Personality of the Year programme for omitting mention of the death of Bill Anderson MBE, Scotland's greatest-ever Highland Games heavyweight athlete among the significant sports figures who died this year, a failure exacerbated  by the show being broadcast from his home city of Aberdeen.
He is a revered figure not only here but throughout the many countries in the world where he competed with huge distinction and was an outstanding ambassador for Scotland, Highland Games and sport in general.
