Mull all set to host SHGA Light Field Championship

MULL ALL SET TO HOST SHGA SCOTTISH LIGHT FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP writes Shane Fenton

There will be added incentive's for athletes taking part in the SHGA Scottish Light Field Jumps Championship at the Mull Highland Games at Tobermory on Thursday.

The SHGA  records [ long jump 25ft 1in and triple 50ft 1in ] were set at Mull in recent years. Also the ground record in the high jump at 6ft 3.5in still stands to the great Jay Scott set in 1955.

In addition to the already generous prize money anyone winning the event and breaking a ground record in the jumps will receive £100 and it is hoped to arrange a cash incentive for any athlete breaking the SHGA record [ 6ft 6.5in ] in the high jump.

For safety reasons the long jump sandpit has been extended to 29ft so there should be no chance of any competitor jumping out the sand.
