Lochearnhead HG[2021]Cancelled

Dear All.
It is with a great sadness that after a meeting of the trustees of the Highland Games yesterday evening, the decision has been taken to cancel this year’s event at Lochearnhead on the 24th July.
The event is first and foremost a gathering of friends and families against a backdrop of traditional Scottish games to entertain our many visitors. This year we would have been unable to provide the spectacle that we always aim for due to the inevitable restrictions that we would face with a large spectator involvement and we are mindful that we would be faced with placing onerous responsibilities on our many volunteer stewards.
Heavyweight, track and field events could not safely be managed. We have also to consider the possible harm that might have come to the local community with so many visitors to the area.
We look forward to seeing you all next year, put the 23rd July into your diaries and let’s hope all is well.
Best wishes
Angus Cameron.
