GAMES VETS AMONG THE TITLES AT MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Highland Games veteran athletes were in title winning form at the Scottish Athletics Indoor Masters Champioships at the Kelvin Hall on Sunday 24th January.

In the M35 category Cameron Smith did the 60 metres [7.31] and 200 metres [23.19] double.

Craig Douglas,Larkhall just missed out on doing the double over the same distances in the M50 age group, Craig won the 200 metres[26.78] and was runner up in the 60metres[8.34].

Linda Nicholson Moorfoot took the W45 60metres[8.77] and doubled up by winning the Long Jump.

John Thomson,Coaltown of Balgonie was also a double champion, John took the M50 800 metres [2:23.12] and the 1500 metres [4:41.31].

In the M65 800 metres James Whiteford Innerleithen took the title in 2:29.63 while in the M40 3000metres Kevin Downie 9:16.2 was the victor.
