Aboyne HG [2021]Cancelled

Aboyne Highland Games 2021 ###CANCELLED###

At a recent meeting of the Directors of Aboyne Highland Games, we have once again taken the tough decision to cancel this year’s event on Saturday 7th August, due to the continuing Coronavirus Pandemic.
Although the COVID vaccine roll out is progressing at pace, the unknown restrictions that are likely to be in place come August, which would have a huge impact on the organisation and logistics of the games, as well as the health, well-being and safety of our Community, competitors, visitors, judges and partners is the most important factor and this has brought us to yet again making this decision.
Any traders who have booked a stall will have now been contacted direct by our Trade Stand Convenor.
Chairman of the Games, Alistair Grant, has said “It has not been an easy decision for the committee to make and we are all extremely disappointed that Aboyne Highland Games will not take place again this year. We know how important the event is to the whole of our Royal Deeside community, our competitors, sponsors, partners and visitors, many of whom travel from around the world to attend our Games. Your support is greatly appreciated.
On the first Saturday in August, Aboyne Green is usually a bustling hive of activity and it will be strange not to see this again this year. We would once again stress that as difficult and tiring as it is, everyone must stay at home and stay safe and healthy.”
We are planning to mark the day in various ways and we will keep everyone informed as things progress.
We will also be focusing our efforts on the 2022 Aboyne Highland Games which will take place on Saturday 6th August 2022.
Please stay safe everyone.
